Everything you have seen already happened. Liquidity has not.
Candles, delta, CVD — everything so far describes the past: trades that already happened. The order book is different. It shows where size is waiting — before price gets there. It is the closest thing to seeing the market's intentions.
The order book, in 10 seconds
The order book is the stack of passive limit orders waiting at each price level for someone to cross them. Above the current price wait passive sellers; below it, passive buyers. Most levels hold ordinary size — but some hold far more than their neighbors. Those levels are called walls.
The heatmap: the book painted over time
Reading the book number by number is exhausting. A heatmap paints every level of the book directly on your chart: the brighter a level glows, the more size waits there. One glance shows you where passivity is betting — which zones are defended, which are empty — without reading a single number.
How to read a wall (honestly)
A big wall has only two fates as price approaches — and both teach you something. Brake: price reaches the wall and stalls; the passivity absorbs the aggression, and you get support or resistance that was visible before it was touched. Trap: the wall gets pulled right as price arrives — spoofing. It never meant to execute; it only meant to scare.
The liquidity map in 3 reads: brightness is passive size waiting — buy walls below, sell walls above. Price tends to seek liquidity, because that is where business can get done. And a wall only proves itself when price arrives. You now hold every piece of the puzzle. In the final chapter: a full session read step by step with all of them together.
