Yesterday leaves a map.

Every finished session leaves three coordinates behind: its POC (the price with the most business — the fairest price of the day), and its VAH and VAL (the edges of the value area, where roughly 70% of the volume traded). Together they answer one question every morning: where did the market last agree? Today's auction starts from that answer.

Inside or outside: the first read of the day

Price trading inside yesterday's value means the market still agrees with yesterday: expect rotation between the edges more often than fireworks. Price trading outside yesterday's value with acceptance — building time and volume out there — means the market is writing a new story: yesterday's map matters less by the hour. You already know the mother concept from Season 2: it is always acceptance versus rejection, now applied to yesterday's edges.

The naked POC: an appointment left standing

When a session ends and later days never touch its POC, that level stays naked: the fairest price of a whole day, still untested. Profile traders track naked POCs for weeks because the market tends to come back to re-examine fair prices it abandoned in a hurry. Tends — not must: a naked POC is one of the most reliable appointments on the map, and still just an appointment.

An old rule of thumb

Profile literature keeps a classic heuristic: when price opens outside yesterday's value area, comes back in, and holds inside — it tends to traverse toward the other edge of that value area. Traders call it the 80% rule, though nobody audits the number. Take the spirit, not the statistic: re-acceptance inside old value is a real piece of information, because it means the escape attempt failed.

Yesterday's day session is half the story. The other half happens while most people sleep — the overnight.
